CENSUS OFFICIALS STRICTLY WARNED AGAINST BREACHING OF SECRECY OF DATA TO BE OBTAINED.
Census officials to conduct the exercise in Igambang'ombe subcounty in Tharaka Nithi county have been urged to strictly mentain the required secrecy of the information gotten.
Speaking to the officials at Kajuki secondary where the training of the enumerators is ongoing, the Igambang'ombe D.C.C said that any official who will act against the the terms,the law wont hesitate to apply on the culprits.According to the D. C. C,the data to be obtained from the house holds is strictly to be used by the government for its development planning purposes and therefore no one else is allowed to have an access to the data.
Also, the D. C. C addressed the issue of mentainance and care for equipments going to be issued to officials. "One has to take the necessary care to any equipment assigned to use during the the exercise.Any equipment that shall be returned being in a compromised state shall not be accepted and the responsible official shall be required to replace it,"warned the D. C. C.
On the issue of security, the subcounty police commander together with the D. C. C assured all the officials of the ample and adequate security during the 24th/25th night which is to be the reference night for the 2019 census. "On the night of 24/25 the security team will be patrolling in bid to ensure that the exercise become a success without being deterred by any one,"assured the subcounty police commander.
Further,the security boss asked the officials especially the enumerators to mentain a proper conduct during the exercise since they will be representing the government in the exercise,and therefore need to portray a good image."We dont want to experience cases where the enumerators have gotten to the field when they are drunk.Anyone one who will be found to have violated this shall have to immediately terminate his work and be replaced,"he contnued.
The 2019 census is planned to take place on the 24/25th night of August,and proceed up to 31st of August this month,
